Zuni Fetishes
All Pueblo people carve and use fetishes in their ceremonies. The Zuni are best known of these, and are so famous for them in fact that they are copied by non-Pueblo tribes, Anglos, and even foreigners. Genuine Zuni fetishes are prized by collectors worldwide.

Dee Edaakie Afghani travertine bighorn ram fetish, 1” high by 2-1/8” long by 1/2” wide, $150. This is a clear-to-white version of this travertine, usually found in a pale aqua or green shade, but easily identifiable by the charcoal matrix and distinctive refraction lines.

Brion Hattie boulder opal bear fetish, 1-3/8” high by 7/8” long by 7/8” wide, $180. A nice patch of opal on his back.
Bremette Epaloose (d) textured magnesite-hematite wild boar fetish, 1-1/2” high by 2-1/2” long by 1” wide, $150. Wild hogs are distinct from javelinas, which are smaller and not pigs at all, and from warthogs which are native to Africa.

Dee Edaakie labradorite little sister corn maiden fetish, 2” high by 5/8” wide by 5/8” long, $156. This lady has inlaid coral eyes, a coral and lapis necklace, and incised corn kernels. Because she wears no tableta, she is perfect for a pouch maiden.
