Zuni Fetishes
All Pueblo people carve and use fetishes in their ceremonies. The Zuni are best known of these, and are so famous for them in fact that they are copied by non-Pueblo tribes, Anglos, and even foreigners. Genuine Zuni fetishes are prized by collectors worldwide.

Loren Tsalabutie lapis otter fetish, 1-3/4” high by 3” long by 1-1/2” wide, $480. Loren won first place in fetish carving (sculpture) at the Heard Museum Indian Fair..
Dee Edaakie Peruvian blue angelite standing bear fetish, 2-1/2” high by 2” long by 1” wide, $220. Dee’s square chunky bears are instantly recognizable. Dee won a ribbon at the Heard Indian Fair.
Eldred Quam (d) serpentine wolf fetish, 1-1/4” high by 2-1/2” long by 1/2” wide, $150. Eldred was a revered elder and medicine man, and one of the first tribal members lost in the Pandemic.
Loren Tsalabutie amethyst crystal blue-eyed porcupine fetish, 1-1/4” high by 2” long by 1-1/2” wide, $300. A perfect creature for this increasingly rare gemstone.
Sherdine Tsattie tiny lemon calcite beaver fetish, 3/4” high by 1-1/2” long by 5/8” wide, $200. The tail shows natural texture within the stone, much like the lemon drop candy that this beaver resembles.
Brian Yatsattie lepidolite standing bear fetish, 2” high by 1” long by 3/4” wide, $235. Brian has always carved a wide variety of unusual stones.
Dee Edaakie clouded blue angelite mountain lion fetish, 1” high by 2” long by 1” wide, $290. This beautiful cat is crouched in the familiar playing position.
Saul Yuselew (d) Salt River serpentine baby roadrunner fetish, 1-1/4” high by 2-1/2” long by 1-1/4” wide, $300. This baby is just trying his wings, one at a time.
Brian Yatsattie lace agate rattlesnake fetish, 3/8” high by 2-3/4” long by 2-1/2” wide, $250. Brian is a master at carving snakes.
Fabian Tsethlikai fishrock serpentine African lion fetish, 1-1/2” high by 3” long by 1” wide, $120. Textured mane and tail tip on this highly polished beauty.
Julius Yuselew (d) yttrium fluorite seated olla maiden fetish, 1-3/4” high by 3/4” long by 3/4” wide, $100. This maiden looks very much like the ones done by Jeff Tsalabutie in the late 90s, three of which are on exhibit in The Zuni Fetish Museum.
Michelle Cheama travertine begging puppy fetish, 1-1/2” high by 3/4” long by 3/4” wide, $55. Michelle learned fetish carving from her father, Wilfred.

Rickson Kallestewa large alabaster mountain lion fetish carving, 2 ¼” high by 5” long, $125. This big cat is waiting beside its food dish.
