Zuni Fetishes and Carvings
2010
This book is an updated and expanded combination of the very popular "A Guide to Zuni Fetishes and Carvings" books by Kent McManis. It is intended to familiarize the reader with materials used in Zuni fetishes, as well as the styles that distinguish the various artists. This will help make identification easier for both the novice and the experienced collector. The book also presents information on previously undocumented carving families, including several new family trees with examples of family members' work.

Zuni Fetish Carvers of the 1970s: A Bridge From Past to Present
2006
This book covers the work of 36 artists who were prolific in the 1970s, including Lena Boone, Edna Leki, Sarah Leekya, Aaron and Thelma Sheche and members of the Quandelacy family. Each artist is accompanied by a short history and photos of their work from the period. Kent talked to the artists or their descendants about each piece shown to make sure that proper attribution was given for all of the carvings. A short introduction covers the historical setting of the jewelry-crazed 1970s, along with some of the traders of the period. The carvings in this book were featured in a show at the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian.
"In presenting this project, we pay tribute to those Zuni artists who kept an age-old tradition moving forward when it easily could have passed into history."
