Veronica Poblano beach glass old style mountain lion fetish, 1” high by 2” long by 1/2” wide, $600. Veronica harvested the glass from the archipelago Haida Gwaii which she finds a spiritual retreat. The shape was much as she left it, a natural concretion lion, the most powerful kind. As always, Veronica’s offering is all natural gemstones, turquoise and coral, and her sterling silver signature tag.
Leo Poblano (d) Pia Mesa travertine coyote fetish, 3/4” high by 2” long by 1/2” wide $2200. A beautiful natural turquoise arrowhead offering is the only embellishment on this native-to-Zuni canine.
Dylan Poblano convertible mermaid fetish necklace, 30” long with mermaid pendant, $3000. The mermaid is carved of abalone and spiny oyster shell with luxuriant pen shell hair. Her features are painted, as Dylan’s grandfather Leo Poblano used to do. She carries a silver trident as she is mistress of all she surveys, and wears sterling silver starfish. The detachable sterling silver butterfly chain is 26” long, and slips easily over the neck with no closure. The handmade chain links are adorned with charms of stars, hearts, and butterflies. The chain can be worn alone. The mermaid comes with a stand of carved pen shell, copper, and sterling silver on which she can rest, and where she keeps her accessories—shells, a black pearl, handmade mirror, and cat-eye glasses. A genuine tour-de-force.
Gibbs Othole incredible turquoise macaw mates sculpture perched on a malachite tree with pen shell trunk growing from a base of Sonoran Sunrise, 8-1/2" high by 4" long by 3" wide, $5500. The tails are lapis on spiny oyster shell. And don't miss the coral-eyed howler monkey hanging out in the tree foliage!
Sheldon Harvey award-winning sculpture—two figures mounted back-to-back—carved wood, oil paint, steel base, 42” high by 18” wide by 15” deep, SOLD. Titled “Man and Woman” by Sheldon, this sculpture comes with the Vice President's ribbon from the Navajo Nation Fair. Visually stunning from all angles; very heavy and stable.
Ricky Laahty large Peruvian blue angelite double frog fetish, 3" high by 4" long by 1-1/2” wide, $1200. There is a parrot carved on the underside. One of the purest pieces of angelite ever carved.
Francis Leekya (d) carved turquoise leaf fetish necklace, with the soft ridges that define his father Leekya Deyuse’s leaves. Fine coral and turquoise heishi measure 21” including sterling silver cones and hook; the large center leaves are each 2” long. Francis made very few of these necklaces. One is in the permanent collection of the Albuquerque Museum; another is on exhibit in The Zuni Fetish Museum. This one is more beautiful than either of those. $1600.
Ray Tsalate large elk antler Kolo:Wisi fetish, 3” high by 8-1/2” long by 5-1/2” wide, $4200. Ray’s fanciful take on this legendary Zuni water serpent is polished smooth as ivory and embellished with a ruff of mink fur and carved pen shell horns. He has coral eyes and tongue, and carved mother-of-pearl teeth. His offering bundle is a belt with abalone arrowhead, carved pink mussel shell corn, abalone moon, mother-of-pearl dragonflies, and a Zuni sun face centered in a carved mother-of-pearl sun. Two beautiful macaw feathers are his headdress. Quintessential Ray, as over-the-top as he is.
