Zuni Fetishes

Ricky Laahty lepidolite bubba frog fetish, 1-3/4” high by 2” long by 1-3/4” wide, SOLD. Lots of micaceous sparkles and a brand-like marking on his right rump. There is a bunny carved underneath.

Charles Martinez, Jr. textured banded calcite buffalo fetish, 1-3/4” high by 2-3/4” long by 7/8” wide, SOLD. Carved horns, detailed hooves, and a curvy tail. Banded calcite is commonly called Mexican onyx, although it is not a chalcedony stone.

Loren Tsalabutie lapis resting fox fetish, 1-1/8” high by 1-1/2” long by 7/8” wide, SOLD. Loren has pet dogs and he accurately captured this lazy pose.

Arvella Cheama textured serpentine swimming sea turtle fetish with baby, 1-1/8” high by 2” long by 1-1/2” wide, SOLD. The tiny baby hitchhiker is carved from the mother stone, not married on. A tour de force!

Ricky Laahty ricolite serpentine double frog fetish, 1” high by 1” long by 1/2” wide, SOLD. Ricky used the banding within the stone to delineate the two frogs. There is an owl on the bottom.

Ruben Najera textured antler barred owls in tree trunk nest fetish, 1-3/4” high by 2” long by 1-1/8” wide, SOLD. Two adults guard three fledglings in this wonderful carving.

Dee Edaakie apple coral mountain lion fetish, 1-1/2” high by 3” long by 3/4” wide, SOLD. Dee gave this feline lapis eyes to contrast with his red-orange body.

Hudson Sandy textured Picasso marble great horned owl fetish, 3” high by 1-1/2” long by 7/8” wide, SOLD. This owl is wheeling around in search of prey.

Stewart Quandelacy black marble medicine bear fetish, 2-7/8” high by 2-7/8” long by 3/4” wide, $150. With Stewart’s classic six-point turquoise heart line impeccably inlaid.

Daisy Natewa multi-stone rabbit family fetish, 1-1/8” high by 1-3/4” long by 1-1/4” wide, SOLD. For this year of the rabbit, four beauties banded together: serpentine, Picasso marble, turquoise, and mother-of-pearl.

Delvin Leekya Zuni stone travertine pig fetish, 1-1/2” high by 2-1/2” long by 1-1/4” wide, SOLD. A roly-poly piggie with pen shell hooves and abalone arrowhead offering.

Ricky Laahty green sea snail mama-and-baby frog fetish, 1/2” high by 1” long by 5/8” wide, SOLD. The colors on this shell are especially lovely. There is a dolphin carved underneath.

Dee Edaakie yttrium fluorite owl fetish, 1-5/8” high by 1-3/4” wide by 1” long, $150. Looking backward with his coral eyes, as you know owls can do.

Arvella Cheama textured serpentine sea turtle fetish, 3/4” high by 1-1/2” long by 1” wide, $120. Arvella’s turtles are distinctive.

Peter Natachu, Jr. (d) etched black marble seated tiger fetish, 2” high by 1-3/4” long by 1” wide, $130. The tiger’s stripes are etched into the marble making them hard to see—just as tigers are in the wild.

Hudson Sandy textured Picasso marble fox fetish, 1” high by 2-1/4” long by 1-1/4” wide, SOLD. A rare subject for Hudson.

Rosella Lunasee and Loubert Soseeah blue onyx chalcedony mountain lion fetish, 1-1/4” high by 2-1/4” long by 5/8” wide, SOLD. The golden brown banding makes a natural heart line.

Emery Eriacho (d) charoite medicine bear fetish, 1-1/4” high by 1-1/2” long by 5/8” wide, SOLD. Charoite is found only in Siberia, Russia.

Dee Edaakie natural black fossil coral mountain lion kitten, 1-1/8” high by 2-3/8” long by 1” wide, SOLD. Dee gave this baby cat red coral eyes for contrast.

Lena Boone blue angelite bear fetish, 1-1/4” high by 2” long by 1/2” wide, SOLD. Red coral eyes on this classic Lena bear.

Andres Quandelacy magnesite-hematite long mountain lion fetish, 1-1/8” high by 3-1/2” long by 5/8” wide, $145. Tail wrapped all the way over the back and an inlaid coral and turquoise heart line.

Ricky Laahty natural Sleeping Beauty turquoise micro-mini frog fetish, 3/4” high by 5/8” long by 3/8” wide, SOLD. How can he carve these teenies? There is even a critter carved underneath.

Justin Red Elk jet mother-and-baby otter fetish, 3/4” high by 2-3/4” long by 5/8” wide, SOLD. Justin is a member of the Leonard Halate family.

Sedrick Banteah (d) textured Picasso marble horned toad fetish, 1/2” high by 1-3/4” long by 1” wide, $95. A very nice example, even detailed underneath.

Loren Tsalabutie lapis grizzly bear fetish, 3/4” high by 1-3/4” long by 1” wide, $150. This bear has his shoulders hunched up while he sniffs the ground.

Wilfred Cheama textured serpentine mama mountain lion with two kits fetish, 2” high by 3-1/2” long by 3-1/4” wide, SOLD. Wilfred is one of the most ambitious of the very talented Cheama family.

Ricky Laahty chert-with-chrysocolla multi-frog fetish, 3/4” high by 1-3/4” long by 1-1/4” wide, SOLD. There are three frogs underneath and two on top, so five total in this mesmerizing creation. The chrysocolla contrasts beautifully with the dark grey chert.

Albert Eustace natural alunite standing mountain lion fetish, 2-1/2” high by 2” long by 1-3/4” wide, $350. Red coral eyes on this alert feline with Albert’s usual beautiful face.
