Ray Tsalate large elk antler bullfrog fetish with coral raindrops, 2-1/8” high by 2” long by 1-1/2” wide, SOLD. The compound eyes are mother-of-pearl with malachite. We call this handsome bubba “Jeremiah” and he is featured on our Christmas card. Joy to the world!
Dee Edaakie Orthoceras fossil in black marble “Ski Bear” fetish, 4” high by 2-1/4” long by 3/4” wide, SOLD. Dee carved around the two fossils so they are in relief, as if the bear were carrying his skis.
Ricky Laahty ruby fuchsite raspberry-blowing frog fetish, 7/8” high by 1-1/8” long by 1” wide, SOLD. Another perfect example of Ricky’s inspired use of stone.
Loren Tsalabutie indigo gabbro bear fetish, 2-3/4” high by 2-1/2” long by 2” wide, $700. Indigo gabbro from Madagascar is a mottled black and grey stone sometimes marketed as mystic merlinite. Loren gave this bear a carved lapis eagle pendant strung on tiny coral beads to carry your healing prayers.
Hudson Sandy textured serpentine armadillo fetish, 1” high by 3” long by 1-1/4” wide, $185. Hudson’s level of detail is remarkable.
Gibbs Othole amazonite wolf fetish, 1” high by 2” long by 3/4” wide, SOLD. With a deep orange spiny oystershell carved arrowhead offering that contrasts beautifully.
Jimmie Etsate, Jr. (d) textured black marble crow fetish, 3/4” high by 2-1/4” long by 1/2” wide, SOLD. Jimmie’s carvings are all as sweet as he was.
Fred Bowannie sugar daddy travertine seated bear fetish with turquoise bird friend, 1-1/2” high by 1-1/4” long by 1” wide, SOLD. There is a reason they call Fred the bear man.
Loren Tsalabutie phosphosiderite twin mole fetishes, approximately 2” high by 1-1/4” long by 1” wide, $450 for the pair, or $250 each individually. The dancer wears a turquoise necklace, and his brother wears a freshwater pearl. Loren has surely observed these guys in the wild because shrews (which are what we have in New Mexico) have long snouts and large forepaws and are almost this cute.
Gibbs Othole black marble crow fetish, 1-1/4” high by 1-1/2” long by 1” wide, SOLD. This crow has given his morning call and is ready for takeoff!
Kent Banteah (d) textured gold-lip mother-of-pearl snake fetish, 7/8” high by 3-7/8” long by 1-1/4” wide, $100. Kent was justly famed for his snake carvings.
Wilfred Cheama (d) travertine onyx eagle fetish, 1-7/8” high by 1-1/8” long by 1” wide, SOLD. Wilfred was among the first to carve lifelike fetishes and his influence can be seen in the entire Cheama family of carvers.
Calvert Bowannie black marble penguin fetish, 1-1/4” high by 1” long by 3/4” wide, $85. A Calvert signature piece—adorable!
Ricky Laahty large sugar daddy travertine frog fetish, 7/8” high by 2-3/4” long by 2” wide, $250. This piece was originally collected at the SWAIA preview gala for 2003 Indian Market. Ricky had just begun adding carvings to the underside of his frogs. This one features a relatively simple but profound spiral.
Fabian Cheama (d) turquoise flying swallow fetish, 1-1/8” high by 1-3/4” long by 1/2” wide, SOLD. This carving shows Fabian’s artistry.
Alonzo Esalio lapis frog fetish, 1/2” high by 1-1/2” long by 1-1/4” wide, SOLD. Alonzo rarely carves, and even more rarely carves frogs.
Dee Edaakie large found moss rock sea turtle offering bowl, 1-1/4” high by 7-1/2” long by 5” wide, $650. This guy is moving right along!
