Zuni Fetishes

Ron Laahty (d) Brazilian agate turtle fetish with abalone fish, 1-1/8” high by 2” long by 1-1/2” wide, SOLD. One of the prettiest turtles by one of the great turtle carvers.

Bremette Epaloose (d) textured magnesite-hematite wild boar fetish, 1-1/2” high by 2-1/2” long by 1” wide, $150. Wild hogs are distinct from javelinas, which are smaller and not pigs at all, and from warthogs which are native to Africa.

Gibbs Othole serpentine mountain lion fetish, 1-5/8” high by 3-1/8” long by 3/4” wide, SOLD. Such an intense look!

Stewart Quandelacy green marble medicine bear fetish, 2-1/8” high by 2-1/4” long by 3/8” wide, SOLD. Stewart’s precise inlaid heart line shines in turquoise against the dark green.

Ricky Laahty ocean jasper frog fetish, 3/4” high by 2” long by 1-1/2” wide, SOLD. A beautiful stone that is sadly no longer plentiful. Ricky carved an equally beautiful fish on the bottom.

Jeff Shetima black marble bear fetish, 1-1/4” high by 1-7/8” long by 7/8” wide, $190. Jeff gave this sweet bear a carved lapis arrowhead for its protection and yours.

Wilfred Cheama textured Picasso marble mountain lion fetish, 1-1/4” high by 1-3/4” long by 1-1/8” wide, SOLD. A particularly nice example of Picasso marble, and a wonderful lion!

Randy Lucio Picasso marble Pueblo maiden with kitten fetish, 1-5/8” high by 1-1/8” long by 1” wide, $150. Maiden’s garb is adorned with inlaid turquoise rain drops and sun faces.

Dee Edaakie lapis eagle fetish, 1-3/8” high by 1-7/8” long by 7/8” wide, $180. Dee’s eagles are compact but most expressive.

Ruben Najera textured deer antler eagle on driftwood stump fetish, 1-1/2” high by 2” long by 1-1/8” wide, SOLD. Incredible detail in this finely carved piece.

Eddington Hannaweeke Picasso marble bobkitten fetish, 1” high by 2” long by 7/8” wide, SOLD. Such a playful pose and sweet expression!

Ricky Laahty ruby fuchsite frog fetish, 3/4” high by 1-3/4” long by 1-1/8” wide, SOLD. Carved in 2010, before Ricky began carving on the underside.

Hudson Sandy textured Picasso marble cockatoo fetish, 2” high by 1” long by 1” wide, SOLD. Hudson is such a fine carver; it’s a shame he hasn’t more time for it.

Alvin Haloo (d) pipestone double badgers fetish, 1-1/8” high by 3-5/8” long by 1-3/8” wide, SOLD. Rarely did Alvin do doubles.

Gibbs Othole opalized agate fox fetish, 1-3/8” high by 1-5/8” long by 7/8” wide, SOLD. A smooth purple spiny oyster shell arrowhead is the offering.

Arvella Cheama Picasso marble woodpeckers-on-a-cactus-stump fetish, 3" high by 1-1/2" long by 1-1/2" wide, SOLD. Arvella is well known for her critters in the saguaro forest.

Yancy Robert Halusewa (d) striped serpentine mountain lion fetish, 2-2/3” high by 3” long by 1-1/2” wide, SOLD. This is a large carving for Yancy.

Dee Edaakie hematite fox fetish, 1-1/4” high by 1-3/4” long by 5/8” wide, SOLD. Dee’s hematite carvings are in great demand.

Fred Bowannie Zuni Stone travertine bear fetish, 1-1/4” high by 1-5/8” long by 5/8” wide, SOLD. A smaller bear from Fred with a beautiful carved Sugar Daddy travertine arrowhead offering.

Esteban Najera chocolate serpentine resting nighthawk fetish, 1-1/4” high by 3-1/2” long by 1-1/4” wide, SOLD. Esteban is known for his detailed carvings in antler, but his stone carvings show equal skill.

Ricky Laahty natural Fox turquoise wolf fetish, 1” high by 1-1/2” long by 5/8” wide, SOLD. Carved from a nugget of Fox turquoise.

Raybert Kanteena textured Picasso marble buffalo fetish, 5/8” high by 1-3/16” long by 1/2” wide, $80. This is one teeny buffalo!

Gibbs Othole blue marble wolf fetish, 1-1/4” high by 2-1/2” long by 3/4” wide, SOLD. A beautiful stone in a rare color.

Gibbs Othole verdite sea turtle fetish, 3/4” high by 2-1/8” long by 2-1/8” wide, $290. Verdite is known as African jade.

Brion Hattie boulder opal bear fetish, 1-3/8” high by 7/8” long by 7/8” wide, $180. A nice patch of opal on the bear’s back.

Dee Edaakie Sonoran Sunrise stalking mountain lion fetish, 3/4” high by 3-1/4” long by 1” wide, SOLD. A beautiful hard stone that is rarely seen anymore.

Loren Tsalabutie lapis standing bear fetish, 2-1/2” high by 2-1/4” wide by 1-1/4” long, $450. Lapis is Loren’s favorite stone for carving.

Ricky Laahty natural alunite mountain lion fetish, 7/8” high by 2-7/8” long by 1” wide, $200. Ricky rarely carves mountain lions.
