Zuni Fetishes

Bernard Homer, Jr. (d) huge Zuni stone travertine bear fetish, 4-1/2” high by 6-1/2” long by 2-1/2” wide, $900. This bear has all the classic Bernard attributes, magnified: intense gaze; Leekya mouth; carved double arrowhead offering in pen shell and turquoise. He weighs almost four pounds, and will masterfully oversee your bear collection.

Sandra Quandelacy double-sided turquoise triple corn maiden fetish, 1-7/8” high by 1-7/8” long by 3/4” wide, $200. Especially lovely green turquoise on this exceptional carving.

Mike Tucson textured jet raven fetish, 1-1/2” high by 2-1/4” long by 3/4” wide, $100, Miike captured the wise brooding expression of the raven perfectly.

Daisy Natewa multi-stone four-carving wolf pack fetish, 1” high by 2” long by 1-1/4” wide, $150. Wolves are carved from Salt River serpentine, augite, pipestone, and mother-of-pearl. All have inlaid silver eyes.

Prudencia Quam lapis mountain lion fetish, 3/4” high by 2-1/4” long by 3/8” wide, $90. Pru’s refined style is evident in this graceful carving.

Vickie Quandelacy apple coral double-sided corn maiden fetish, 2-1/2” high by 1-1/8” long by 3/4” wide, $200. Each maiden wears a tableta-like headdress and intricate multi-stone necklace. 

Loubert Soseeah Petoskey stone frog fetish, 1-1/4” high by 2-1/4” long by 1-5/8” wide, $100. This frog is sniffing the air for the rain and abundance he promises to bring.

Cheryl Beyuka fishrock serpentine jaguar fetish, 3/4” high by 3-1/4” long by 1/2” wide, $150. The spots are inlaid jet. Ambitious!

Herbert Halate jet bear fetish, 1-1/2” high by 4” long by 2-1/4” wide, $190. Herbert calls this shape his “walking bear” as opposed to a medicine bear.

Aaron and Thelma Sheche (both d.) fish rock serpentine wolf mates fetish, 1” high by 2-1/2” long by 1/2” wide, $300. Beautifully polished, which is a hallmark of Aaron’s work, and adorned with Aaron’s carved arrowhead.

Daisy Natewa double frogs with dragonfly fetish, 3/4” high by 2-1/4” long by 1” wide, $150. The frogs are carved of turquoise and beautiful black-lip mother-of-pearl; the dragonfly is abalone.

Andres Quandelacy (d) long fossil ivory mountain lion fetish, 3/4” high by 2-1/4” long by 3/8” wide, $200. Andres carved the most graceful mountain lions!

Curtis Garcia sgraffito black marble standing bear fetish, 3-1/2” high by 1-1/2” long by 1-1/4” wide, $230.  Curtis is known for his variety of sgraffito designs; here he even etched the bear claws.

Loren Tsalabutie white marble bobcat fetish, 1-5/8” high by 3-1/2” long by 1-1/2” wide, $560. This cat is nonchalantly strolling along and looking around, as they do. Loren accented the pure white marble with a blue lapis arrowhead and coral wrap—an all-American bobcat.

Rickson Kallestewa alabaster bear fetish, 2-1/4” high by 3” long by 1-1/2” wide, $150. Big bear has a lovely turquoise arrowhead offering fashioned from a natural nugget.

Georgette Quandelacy turquoise frog fetish, 1/2” high by 1-1/8” long by 1” wide, $80. Georgette is well known for these heart-shaped frogs; this one has inlaid jet raindrops.

Bernard Homer, Jr. (d) fossil ivory badger fetish, 5/8” high by 1-5/8” long by 7/8” wide, $150. Such a pretty badger! 

Saul Yuselew alabaster medicine bear fetish, 1-1/2” high by 2” long by 7/8” wide, $300. One of Saul’s famous blind bears, this one has a pearlescent pink arrowhead offering.

 Edna Leki (d) large deer antler serpent fetish, 1” high by 6-1/2” long by 3/4” wide, $350. This is circa 1970s judging from the wrap which features a gorgeous abalone shell arrowhead secured with rawhide leather.
